Election Commission Unveils Lok Sabha 2024 Dates Tomorrow, Setting Stage for Political Showdown

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Dates: The Election Commission on Friday announced that it will announce the dates for Lok Sabha elections and some state assemblies tomorrow.
The
 election announcement will be made at a press conference at 3pm at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
“The
Election Commission press conference to announce the schedule for the 2024 general elections and selected state assemblies will be held tomorrow, Saturday, March 16th at 3:00 pm. “It will be streamed live on ECI’s social media platforms. the election administration wrote to X.
The
model code becomes effective upon publication. These are a set of guidelines issued by the Election Commission to political parties, candidates, governments and political parties in relation to speeches, announcements, manifestos and general conduct during elections.

The term of the current parliamentarians ends on June 16th, by which time a new House of Representatives must be established.
The
Lok Sabha polls were last announced on March 10 and were conducted in seven phases starting April 11. The counting of votes took place on May 23rd.

The
 announcement regarding the voting schedule came on the day two newly appointed members, Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, joined the polling committee. Two posts of election commissioner in the Election Commission of India have fallen vacant following the sudden resignation of Arun Goel last week and the resignation of Anup Chandra Pandey on February 14.

The announcement also sets the stage for a political battle between Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s NDA government and the Congress-led Indian bloc.

Lok Sabha elections 2024: Approximately 97 million people registered to vote

Earlier this month, the Election Commission announced that 96.88 million people have registered for the upcoming elections, forming the largest constituency.

The report said 2 million young voters between the ages of 18 and 29 were added to the voter list.
