Budaun Horror: Barber Murders Neighbor’s Sons, Killed in Encounter

A devastating event unfolded in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, sending shockwaves through the community when a local barber, 22-year-old Mohd Sajid, committed a horrifying attack. Sajid forcefully entered the house of his neighbor, a contractor named Vinod, at approximately 8 pm on a fateful Tuesday, armed with an axe. In a chilling act of violence, he brutally murdered Vinod’s two young sons by slashing their throats and severely injured a third child.

The perpetrator, Sajid, who also owned a salon, was later killed in a police encounter about two hours after the attack, yet the impact of his actions lingers in the community.

Reports suggest that Sajid deceitfully lured the children to the terrace, pretending he needed money, taking advantage of Vinod’s absence, who was at the market at the time. Yuvraj, one of Vinod’s sons and a survivor of the attack, recounted the harrowing experience, indicating that Sajid had attempted to kill him as well but managed to escape.

The precise reasons behind Sajid’s brutal act remain unknown, but Singh, the victims’ father, speculates that a personal feud could be the motive, noting that Sajid had previously demanded Rs 5,000 from him.

Despite the initial uproar, District Magistrate Manoj Kumar clarified that the incident was motivated by personal animosity and not communal tensions.

The police located Sajid hiding in the Shekhupur forest where a confrontation led to his death from gunshot wounds, providing a grim resolution to the event.

In response to the murders, the Budaun community expressed their outrage by setting Sajid’s salon ablaze and demanding swift justice. His eventual death at the hands of the police marked an end to the immediate crisis.

To prevent further unrest, additional police forces were deployed in the area by the Senior Superintendent of Police, aiming to reestablish peace and order.

As investigations proceed, this tragic incident highlights the crucial need for community vigilance and cooperation in combatting violence, underscoring the collective responsibility to maintain safety and order, and to seek justice for the aggrieved.
